Dian & Russ

Dian was raised on the Burton family Christmas tree farm and went to high school in rural East Lewis County. Following graduation, she studied ornithology, botany, and Pacific Northwest ecology at Evergreen State College, in Olympia. She then completed her education in Bellingham at Western Washington University, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

In 2009 Dian returned to freelance journalism and is continuing her education in hopes of a teaching degree.
