Our wreath material and boughs all come from grafted Noble fir Christmas trees. This material is superior to the Noble fir generally available from Christmas tree farms in that the material is not juvenile in appearance. The needles are stiff and bluish like those you would find on a mature "high mountain" type tree. (juvenile material from young trees tends to be greener, more easily crushed or broken and to dry out more quickly than mature foliage.) This is true for the grafts because the original cuttings for the grafts were taken from mature trees and they retain their mature characteristics even though they are grafted onto seedlings and set out in the plantation as very small trees.
Bulk material includes boughs that can be as long as 40" or so, down to tips that are around 6", generally with few of either extreme. They are tied with twine into bundles that weigh an average of about 40 pounds. Boughs are intended for greenery, not swags, and as such the branches are not necessarily balanced from one side to the other.
Bulk tips are precut for wreath making and range in size from about 8" to 12" with a few being either longer or shorter. The material is put into used burlap-type bags or boxed for shipment, depending upon size of order.
Boughs are nicely balanced branches that are perfect for making swags or table centers. They are selected to be attractive and heavy, but not too spiky.
