Grand fir are a nice variety tree for many areas. They have a wonderful aroma and a deep green color. They are sheared similar to a Douglas fir.  The needles lie flat on the branches as if they are parted. It is important to harvest these trees after they have gone dormant, or keepability becomes an issue. They are best ordered for delivery late in the season, at or after December 1st in most years. The calendar isn't always a reliable guide for this, however, and in some years the cold weather arrives early and the trees can be harvested early.
